INTRODUCTION OF FACULTY OF ELECTRONICS TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The Faculty of Electronics – Telecommunications (FETEL) was established by the President of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on June 19, 2006. The origin of FETEL is the Department of Electronics at the Faculty of Science, The University of Saigon, in the late 1950s. After 1975, the Department of Electronics, together with other departments, was merged into the Faculty of Physics. The Department of Electronics became the Department of Electronic Physics.
In early 2004, the Department of Electronic Physics was renamed to the Department of Electronics – Telecommunications. At the beginning of 2005, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City allowed the establishment of the Electronics – Telecommunications major, which temporarily remained in the Faculty of Physics but with its own enrollment quota and program. In June 2006, the Faculty of Electronics – Telecommunications (FETEL) was established, as mentioned at the beginning.

Currently, FETEL includes three departments (Electronics, Computers – Embedded Systems, Telecommunications – Networks) and a faculty-level laboratory in charge of training and research in the field of Electronics – Telecommunications.
The Faculty’s current staff includes professors, doctors, masters who are main lecturers, lecturers, and teaching assistants participating in teaching and other activities with a total of about 50 members. In addition, there is also the participation of professors and lecturers from American, Japanese, and domestic universities in collaboration activities.
